Makes about 3 cups
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 banana — ripe is good
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 1 cup packed chopped kale leaves
- 4-5 ice cubes
- 1 cup almond milk or other nondairy milk
Optional items that can be substituted:
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 cup packed spinach
- 1 green apple – cored and cut into small pieces
- ½ cucumber – cut into smaller pieces
- 1 kiwi – peeled
Directions
It’s best to combine the ingredients in a blender with the softest and easiest to blend items at the bottom. Kale, spinach, or green apple should be placed in last. Start your blender on the lowest setting and slowly increase speed as the smoothie starts to puree. Blend for about 2 minutes or until everything is smooth.
